A Study on Temperature Distribution within HVDC Bushing Influenced by Accelerator Content during the Curing Process

Power transmission technology plays an important role in energy sustainability. Bushing is indispensable type of equipment power transmission. In production, the accelerator changes temperature distribution during curing process, influencing formation defects and thus safety output renewable energy. this study, uncured epoxy resin samples with different contents were prepared measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The obtained heat flow curves analyzed for kinetics. Then, process large length–diameter ratio bushings was simulated using finite element method combined a kinetics model, transient Fourier transfer stress–strain model. study reveals that system can be established Sestak–Berggren autocatalytic model contents. overall degree maximum radial difference capacitor core tend to increase then decrease content. This mainly attributable rapid exotherm excluding participation some molecular chains reaction, resulting permanent under-curing. As content increases, strain peak decreases increases. paper provides guidance comprehensive evaluation manufacturing low-defect cores large-size high voltage direct current (HVDC) bushings.
